Manager, Policy, Government & Public Affairs
Rod Maier is manager of Policy, Government & Public Affairs for Chevron Canada, responsible for external relations, policy, communications and social performance activities for Chevron Canada. Previously he was manager of External Relations and Communications for the Kitimat LNG Project, and manager of Frontier Development, responsible for development of Chevron’s unconventional resource and Arctic assets in Canada, as well as Chevron’s Global Arctic Center.
Rod joined Chevron in 1982 after graduating with distinction from the University of Alberta with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering. During his career, he has held leadership positions in Engineering, Asset Development, Operations, Exploration, and Planning, including assignments in Canada, Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He is a registered professional engineer, and member of APEGA and APEGBC, the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). He is also chairman of the BC LNG Alliance.
