Development Geologist/Geophysicist

Chevron’s Atlantic Canada interests include positions in non-operated joint ventures (NOJV) at Hibernia, Hebron and Terra Nova, and a significant exploration position offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.
We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Subsurface team located in St. John’s, NL. The incumbent in this position will provide geological and geophysical support to the team with a primary focus on supporting the Hibernia Field development planning in the areas of reservoir characterization, opportunity assessments, and well planning. The preferred candidate will be well rounded in the areas of geologic modeling, seismic interpretation, and petrophysics to help provide an integrated view of the structural and stratigraphic framework that is necessary to support the overall work plan and to mentor more junior staff.
Qualifications for this position include a degree in Geological or Geophysical studies and a minimum of 10 years related experience, preferably in an offshore environment. Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills are required to present independent analysis to both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate must have the skills required to build relationships and work within a multi-cultural team environment. Candidates should also be registered, or have potential to register with PEGNL as a professional geoscientist.
