Calgary Flames Launch Two New Kids Programs with Chevron Canada

Calgary, Alberta, Oct. 9, 2014 – The Calgary Flames, Flames Foundation for Life, and Chevron Canada Limited are excited to announce two new community programs for all kids in Calgary. The Flames@School program and the Flames Kids Club will engage youth with fun and educational Flames-filled content, both at school and at home. Both programs aim to emphasize the importance of health and wellness, and use hockey content to develop and foster youth interest in education.

The Flames@School program, in partnership with the Flames Foundation for Life and Chevron Canada, focuses on the health and wellness of students. This program is a curriculum-based resource drawing on the exciting history and current stars of the Calgary Flames. The Flames@School program serves as a great way to get kids involved in their education and make learning fun and interactive both in school and at home. The program is available online for both parents and teachers. The curriculum encourages students and youth to get active and make healthy decisions.

The Flames Kids Club, in partnership with Chevron Canada, is engaging thousands of young Flames Fans with their favourite Flames, as well as creating new ways of linking sport and education. Through Chevron Canada’s partnership, the "science of hockey" will be featured in digital Kids Club properties, at Flames Games, and at Kids Club community events. Additionally, the official launch of Kids Club will introduce the new Flames online community for kids, the Flames Club App.

Both programs will be showcased at the Flames Red Rally on Sunday, October 26th at WinSport Arenas.
