Calgary, December 15, 2008 - Gary Luquette, president, Chevron North America Exploration and Production, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark MacLeod to the position of Atlantic Canada Manager. Mr. MacLeod, who is currently managing director for Chevron Norway, will be taking on his new responsibilities in January 2009.
Commenting on this latest addition to Chevron’s St. John’s-based staff, Chevron Canada Resources President Mark Nelson said, “The appointment of Mr. MacLeod to lead our Atlantic Canada operations is reflective of the wide range of business interests that Chevron has in Atlantic Canada, including our non-operated role in Hibernia, Terra Nova and Hebron and our exploration activity in Orphan Basin and the Labrador offshore.”
“Mr. MacLeod has the necessary combination of skills and experience, including the well-deserved excellent reputation he earned in the local community from his previous posting in St. John’s, to lead Chevron’s interests in Atlantic Canada,” added Alan Dunlop, vice-president of asset development with Chevron Canada.
Mr. MacLeod received his Bachelor’s degree in geology from La Salle College in 1979 and his Master’s degree in geophysics from Stanford University in 1980. He joined Chevron in 1980 as a geophysicist and has held numerous technical and management positions in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States in his career.
Chevron Canada is actively engaged in oil and gas exploration and production activities in Atlantic Canada, Northern Canada and the Alberta oil sands. Chevron Canada has been a key player in Canada’s energy industry for 70 years and is committed to supporting the growth of Canada’s energy future as a partner of choice with governments, regulators and communities.
