On April 9, 2015, Woodside Energy International (Canada) Limited (Woodside Canada) joined the Kitimat LNG Project as a 50:50 co-venturer with Chevron Canada Limited (Chevron).

Woodside’s entry into the Kitimat LNG Project brings international LNG experience and decades of LNG operating experience.

Chevron welcomes Woodside Canada to the Kitimat LNG Project, and we look forward to working with our new co-venturer to realize our vision of establishing a safe and environmentally responsible LNG project that benefits British Columbia, First Nations, Canada and LNG customers.

Chevron is currently the Operator of the downstream components of the project including the LNG liquefaction facility at Bish Cove near Kitimat, British Columbia and the natural gas Pacific Trail Pipeline. Following an interim transition period, Chevron will assume the role of Operator for the project’s upstream resources in the Liard and Horn River Basins in Northeastern British Columbia.

Together with Woodside, we look forward to continuing and building on the strong relationships that have been established by the project to date all across Northern British Columbia.

The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) consortium of JGC/Fluor was selected in January 2014 for the LNG facility located at Bish Cove near Kitimat B.C.
